THE TEACHER
To me teaching is about inspiration. About what inspires me and what I hope my students will be inspired by. What is it that makes you choose this art and what is it that made you decide to go for this in your life?
I have been teaching for a long time. Teaching mainly composition and guitar. One of the schools I teach is the Faculty of Music and the Faculty of Music Technology at the Utrecht School of the Arts. I also teach masterclasses composition at the CMS (the composition department) of the HanzeHogeschool in Groningen.
Being a composer/perfomer and teacher I am asked many questions.
During my concert tours I do get to meet lots of people and among them many musicians. Especially at some remote places there are lots of young talented musicians craving for information and knowledge. I feel very honoured when they come up to me after a concert to ask questions and with some of them I have a long mail contact.
